Mice Control & Removal

Through Critter Control’s inspection of your home or business, find out how these mice are gaining access.  Stop treating part of the problem; treat the whole nuisance wildlife issue.

House mice are a common problem in homes and in all types of Critter Control mice removal & controlbusinesses. Nearly everyone can remember times when they were irritated by mice. Mice are nuisances to rich and poor alike. The continual drain that house mice impose on stored food and fiber, and the damage they cause to personal possessions are the most serious economic threats. House mice also have the potential to transmit diseases and parasites to people and domestic animals.

Typical locations for mice with homes are attics and basements. The common process for getting rid of mice in these areas of the home starts with inspection. Critter Control will identify the source of entry for the mice and harborage areas where damage from the mouse infestation is taking place.  We will inspect both the interior and exterior of homes in a thorough manner, in order to identify all points of entry.

Once we have identified all points of mouse entry, Critter Control will implement a mouse trapping and baiting program to quickly reduce the population of mice in the infestation. When the mice have been trapped, they will be removed from the home through a safe dead mice removal process. Then, Critter Control will seal all entry points to prevent any re-entry of mice.

After all entry points have been sealed and the mice have been removed from the home, Critter Control will use rodenticides (if allowed by the state) around the exterior of the home,  in order to reduce the mouse infestation pressure on the house. Cleaning up mouse damage and excrement in basements and attics is also an important step of the process and should be carried out by a mouse professional.

Squirrels, Squirrels and More Squirrels

Have they picked your house for theirs??  Are they driving you batty with the gnawing?  Critter Control is here to humanly exclude those squirrels and then we can fix how they got in there in the first place.

There are over 200 squirrel species that live all over the world, with the exception of Australia.  No matter where they are, we are getting a lot of calls on nuisance squirrels.

Squirrels have four front teeth that never stop growing, so they gnaw constantly.  Females may have several litters a year.

When customers call us, we ask them a series of questions to help determine if and what type of squirrel control is necessary. It is important for customers to track what time of day they are hearing noises, how long they have been hearing noises and in what area of the home or building they are hearing noises so we can implement the most ideal squirrel control plan.

If squirrel control is not implemented immediately when the squirrel situation is identified, the population of squirrels living in or around a building will continue to grow. Every time a new litter grows up and leaves the nest, they begin to look for places to build their own nests, which often ends up being in other areas of the building. It is important to implement squirrel control in your home or business in order to prevent large populations of squirrels. If squirrels are ignored, Critter Control may find holes in every corner of your home!

Snake Slithers Out of Dashboard, Forces Driver Off I-95

JARRATT, Va. — A man on his way from New Hampshire to Florida got quite a scare driving down Interstate 95 in Virginia on Friday morning when a snake slithered out from the dashboard of his U-Haul truck. The driver and his passenger pulled off I-95, entered the town of Jarratt, parked the U-Haul at a car dealership and asked for help.

“I was sitting at my desk,” Owen Ford employee Jason Lowery said. “A traveler came in and hollered at one of the service technicians ‘I got a snake coming out from behind the dashboard.’” When Lowery jumped up to help, he said the other man in the U-Haul was holding half of the snake in his hands.

“He was holding it to keep it from going back up in the dashboard,” Lowery said. “He was trying to pull him out, but he wasn’t coming out.”

Unable to set the snake free, the travelers and workers called Critter Control to take care of the stowaway snake.

“When I got here, they left it all to me,” Critter Control of Virginia Beach operator Lucky Streich said.”We’ve had snake calls, but not so much with someone pulling off the highway with a snake under their dash.”

Streich said after getting advice from the home office in Michigan, he used ice to help dislodge the stuck snake.
