What makes Critter Control different from other animal control companies? Our dedication to your squirrel situation. Not only will we completely get rid of unwanted squirrels from your home, we will also repair squirrel damage in a professional and permanent manner. We don’t just nail a piece of hardwood over a hole and call it good. We will make sure the repair is effective for getting rid of squirrels, while matching the design and structure of your home.
The best solution for getting squirrels out of attics is to trap them and relocate them to areas away from the home. Critter Control uses state-of-the-art trapping systems to catch all squirrels that may have access to attics. We identify all entry points, monitor them on a regular basis and seal holes after we are certain all squirrels in the attics have been trapped.
Another solution for getting squirrels out of attics is through the use of one-way doors. One-way doors are set at each attic entry point, then when each squirrel leaves the attic they will be unable to re-enter through the same door. It is common, however, for problem-solving squirrels to simply chew another hole once the previous hole is sealed off.
Calls are coming into the offices about squirrels. We attempt to answer the question, why squirrels and why my attic?
As squirrels have litters of babies twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall, they are constantly looking for sheltered areas to build their nests. Squirrels get into the attic by chewing holes from the outside, typically above gutters, or at construction gaps where dormers meet the roofline. They may also gain entry to attics by chewing corners of trim or any other weak area that allows them access into the attic space.

Exterminators generally get more calls at this time of year as rodents head indoors to escape falling temperatures. But homeowners are heading out to hardware stores. At Derry Feed & Supply, store owner Bud Evans said one of the most popular items is a bait station, a little plastic enclosure containing cubes of rodenticide.
